Better Society and the Matrix Knowledge Group
Matrix is committed to sustainable economic development and to ensuring that economic growth results in improved societal well-being. Here we highlight two initiatives which we have invested in within the company this year.
Fair Trade
The Matrix Knowledge Group supports and encourages its employees, associates and clients to use Fairtrade products within their businesses and homes. Matrix Knowledge Group began using Fairtrade products at the start of January 2007 and subsequently became a member of the Square Mile Fairtrade Steering Group in February 2007.
Matrix provides Fairtrade tea and a range of coffees in its offices for employees and client meetings. We send Fairtrade flowers as gifts for employees throughout the year and demonstrate our ongoing commitment by displaying posters and leaflets around our offices and in our reception area. We are looking to use Fairtrade wines at our corporate events and team meetings: and also to use Fairtrade chocolate and biscuits for our staff tuckshop and client meetings.
Matrix is delighted to be actively supporting the Square Mile Fairtrade campaign by providing its proprietary software – aspirahub, free of charge, for the web portal and questionnaire through which organisations in the Square Mile can pledge their commitment to Fairtrade.
Save the Planet Posters
To support our staff’s commitment to help the environment, we have produced a series of posters giving simple tips on how to help the environment while in the office. These are available for free download as we hope that other companies will find them useful to their CSR programmes.
Publications
Matrix wrote a chapter on charity impact evaluation in A Guide to Giving published by Philanthropy UK.
A Guide to Giving 3rd edition is the updated and essential handbook for 21st century giving, published by Philanthropy UK. You can download the Guide here for free.
