It brings its considerable experience and an international reputation in the area to provide us with information retrieval services.
The Centre is a leader in the field. It has a wide-ranging portfolio of research and consultancy activities in the evidence-based policy and practice field. The Centre has unrivalled expertise in conducting major literature searches for clients using the comprehensive suite of bibliographic databases provided by the King’s College Library and Information Service, supplemented by access to similar facilities at the British Library.

Matrix Evidence is working with the BMJ Evidence Centre on a number of key projects, including technology assessment reviews to inform the NICE guidance development process. The BMJ Evidence Centre aims to build evidence into practice, in order to support improvements in the consistency and quality of health care. For the past 10 years, they have helped clinicians and patients with treatment decisions by providing them with the best available evidence on the clinical effectiveness of interventions.
Our collaboration starts with the BMJ Evidence Centre’s team of information experts searching across 6,500 medical journals and related resources, to identify and assess the evidence. Then their team of doctors, pharmacists, subject specialists and dedicated editorial staff evaluate the literature and synthesize the evidence. The Matrix Evidence team builds on this foundation by adding statistical input to perform meta-analysis and data synthesis, and developing models to determine the cost-effectiveness of different management strategies.
