NHS leaders tackle race equality in health at London summit

NHS leaders met in London on 19th October 2009 for a summit to discuss ways to improve race equality in health. Cynthia Bower, Chief Executive of the new Care Quality Commission (the NHS regulator) was keynote speaker at the Race for Health summit, which was attended by Chief Executives and Chairs of leading NHS trusts, PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities. read more »

Expert on Call gives leading thinkers from the NHS Institute and beyond the opportunity to share their experiences and answer questions from NHS staff working in service improvement.
During this session, which was held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 4:00 pm, David Welbourn spoke about the concept of organisational health which can help us understand how large organisations, such as the NHS, work and how they can respond to the challenges they face.

Taking stock and moving forward
18 June 2009 – Taking stock and moving forward conference, Brussels
Mariell Juhlin, a Matrix Insight Director presented at the Taking stock and moving forward conference held in Brussels on 18 June 2009. The conference took place following the successful completion of the ex-post evaluation of FP6 and the publication of the expert group’s report in February 2009 and was designed to take stock of what had been achieved and to consider how future evaluations of the Framework Programme might be improved even further.

Kevin Marsh (Lead Economist at Matrix) wrote a paper on Operationalising the value of culture and sport which was presented by Adam Cooper (DCMS) at the ESRC/AHRC/DCMS Policy Seminar at the Department for Culture Media & Sport on Friday 26th June 2009.
